As promised, here's another delicious Christmasy creation from the bartenders at InterContinental. This time, we're doing an amaro liqueur/orange vodka concoction with a slice of lemon and a cinnamon stick the latter of which is, of course, a traditional nod to the holidays. Bartender extraordinaire, Elizabeth De Jager, offers this tip when it comes to entertaining. Go for cocktails that require shaking and when you're doing so, don't hold back. Shaking vigorously adds audio and visual flare and greatly enhances the drama of the presentation. So go ahead and shake shake shake, shake shake shake your bevvy.

It's that time of the year again when bartenders are working their magic to come up with festive gifts for our tastebuds. Happily, the folks at InterContinental have agreed to share a few of their best holiday cocktails so you can create them at home. Of course, yours truly has tested them all for you but, if you'd like to do your own tasting, head to the birthplace of these babies -- the first of which, the North Pole Haze, is currently being served at Azure Restaurant at InterContinental Toronto Centre.
