3 'feel good' cocktails created by mixologists at Azure with Valentine's in mind

Can mixologists put you in the mood? Oh yeah. Especially if they load your glass with so-called happy ingredients such as endorphin-increasing spirits, and juices that make you feel good all over. Here are three fabulous cocktails created by the folks at Azure Restaurant and Bar at InterContinental Toronto that are sure to set you up for a super seductive Valentine's.

Rejuvenating Old Fashioned

·       2 oz. Makers Mark bourbon 

·         1 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice (strained to remove pulp)

·         1/2 oz. honey cherry syrup 

·         10 dashes Dillons orange bitters

·         1 maraschino cherry 

Honey Cherry Syrup:

·         1 oz. honey 

·         1/2 oz. warm water

·         1/2 oz. cherry juice

Directions:

Mix honey, warm water and cherry juice together to make Honey Cherry Syrup. Place cherry into rocks glass filled with ice. Add bourbon, orange juice, honey cherry syrup and bitters into a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into smoking flask. Smoke liquid with PolyScience smoking gun. Cover flask with coaster and pour into prepared rocks glass at table site.

Very Merry Pineapple Martini

Ingredients:

·         1 oz. Malibu Rum

·         1 oz. Henkel melon liqueur

·         1/8 oz. Jagermeister

·         1/8 oz. Chambord

·         2 oz. pineapple juice

·         1 pineapple triangle 

Directions:

Chill martini glass with ice water. Place all ingredients into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into martini glass. Garnish with pineapple triangle.

Berry Relaxing Fizz

·    1 1/2 oz. Absolute raspberry vodka

·         2 oz. strawberry purée 

·         1/2 oz. lemon syrup 

·         3 oz. Kew sparkling wine

·         1 strawberry 

Lemon syrup:

1 oz. lemon juice

1 1/2 oz. simple syrup 

Directions:

Add raspberry vodka, strawberry purée and lemon syrup into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into Champagne flute. Top up with sparkling wine and garnish with fresh strawberry.
