With the holidays upon us, just as sure as Santa will come down the chimney sales of coffee-friendly liqueurs such as Kahlua and Frangelico will go through the roof. As Canadians, we are java junkies and cold weather coupled with the holidays provides the perfect excuse to dress up a cup of joe with a few tasty tipples. If you’re counting calories (kudos for trying at this time of year), bartender, Elizabeth De Jager, at InterContinental Toronto Centre says that this drink is lovely even without the whipped cream thanks to the glorious flavour combo of hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla and good strong coffee.
- ½ oz Kahlua
- ½ oz Frangelico
- ½ oz chocolate liqueur
- ½ ox Smirnoff vanilla vodka
- Americano freshly brewed coffee
- whipped cream
- coffee beans
Into a warmed mug, add Kahlua, Frangelico, chocolate liqueur and vanilla vodka. Add coffee and top with whipped cream and a coffee bean for garnish.
